Chef Andreas Caminada has been running Schloss Schauenstein*** since 2003, a historic castle with its restaurant and boutique hotel located in Fürstenau (Switzerland), officially the smallest town in the world.

It was as a teenager that Andreas Caminada first became aware of his interest in the hotel business. He learned the essential basics of the trade at Hotel Signina in Laax and honed his skills at upscale gourmet restaurants such as Hotel Walserhof in Klosters, Restaurant Wiesengrund in Uetikon am See and Restaurant Bareiss in Baiersbronn.

In 2015, the Swiss chef launched a second restaurant brand, IGNIV by Andreas Caminada, which currently has three locations: IGNIV Bad Ragaz at the Grand Resort, IGNIV Zürich at the Marktgasse Hotel – both awarded 2 Michelin stars – and IGNIV Bangkok at the St. Regis Hotel in 2020 – currently awarded 1 Michelin star. Likewise also opened in 2018, Casa Caminada, a guesthouse with a restaurant, an organic bakery and 10 rooms.
